Its almost a month since the new year had begun. There are some new resolutions i had made for myself; Firstly and my utmost priority- getting a scholarship from A*star, Exxon or DSTA. Next would be getting a class 3 license, followed by moulding my character to become a better one. Well..... and had a last one but guess shalln't disclose it. OH ya... and also hope to strike that CNY ANG PAO TOTO. Imaging what i can do with that lum sum of cash- WONDERS.
Getting close to ODRing and sorta did a reflection. I could still remember vividly the day when i first entered the service. Suffered and endured through the physically demanding basic training. Hmm... doubt anyone knows that the following 3months in sispec was my darkest days. i hope things like that wouldnt happen ever again. Spent about 1 year plus in unit, half the time doing my vocation job, half the time conducting training course. Not bad i would say, got to experience both side of unit life. Overall, kinda enjoyed NS. Cheers to those who serve with pride, Jeers to those who serve with butt.
Finally got passed for all my theories for driving and picking up practical lessons. Sighz... Today which is the 4th lesson, my car "died". I see it as an big embrassment to suddenly when about to move off, then the car engine stalled. DARN.. and what's worst is that it happened 3 times in a roll within 30mins!!! its all cause of i got over-confident about finding the biting point fast and realsed it too quickly. well.. a summarised mistakes and things learnt since the first lesson:
(i)Slowly find the biting point and hold it there till the car had moved off for about 2-5meters. Failing to do so will cause the engine to stall.
**EMBRASSMENT ALERT**
(ii)When its green light and making a right turn, hold in half clutch position for the car to slowly catch up the turning vehical, fully depress the clutch once u catch up. Failing to do so will result to either too big gap btwn and will lead not not be able to turn in time/smoothly or will get too close to the vehical ahead. This will result to point deduction.
(iii)With reference to the scenario in point (ii); When its ur turn to go, half clutch and move off while looking right for any incoming vehicle. Changed to gear 2 while controlling the steering wheel. Failing to do so will result to road hogging while making a turn and causing road hazard. Points will be deducted big time.
**WEAKNESS ALERT**
(iv)While changing gears, never release the accelerator too fast before fully depressing the gear. May relase abit to slow down the speed. Failure to do so will result your car's speed to slow down and result to changing gear at unappropriate speed. Points might be deducted?? not too sure about this.
(v)After changing the gear DO NOT release the clutch too fast. Instead slowly release it while simultaneousely depressing the accelerator. Failure to do so while result to your car jumping.
Above points are mainly to keep track of what i had learnt and to share with my friends of not to do the same mistakes as me. Though some points is part of the advance theory, but seriously, when one is driving, theories are indeed hard to apply on the spot. Guess practise makes perfect. Hopefully able to master everthing by mid may as june 3 is my TP date. I wanna fufill one of my new year resolution. Wish me luck and CHEERs to all.. :)
